Local Attractions

There are plenty of other Area Activities in our beautiful region other than fly fishing the Green River.  Below is a list of a handful of local attractions:

Flaming Gorge Reservoir - There are great fishing opportunities on the Flaming Gorge Reservoir - our guides are happy to point you to the spots where the shore fishing is consistent. There are also lots of great guides that will put you on fish.  Species include Lake Trout, Rainbows, Small Mouth Bass, Kokanee Salmon, Carp and Burbot.  The Utah State record lake trout was caught here.

Dinosaur National Monument is located about an hour south of Dutch John, Utah. Dinosaur bones in an open quarry, petroglyphs.

McCoy Flats  - Mountain Bike Trails just oustide of Vernal, Utah.

McConkie Ranch  - Easy access to Ancient Petroglyphs

Red Canyon Overlook - Peer down a cliff located about 1,500 feet above Flaming Gorge Reservoir, hiking trails

Sheep Creek Geological Loop - A beautiful drive through a narrow canyon and the edge of the Uinta Mountans.

Uinta Mountains - Thousands of lakes, trails and streams to hike, explore and fish.

Dinosaur Expeditions - Raft the Green River through Ladore Canyon and or Split Mountain - just downstream of where we fly fish the Green River.

Highway 191 is a Scenic Byway with many beautiful sites along the way.  Bikers on their way to Sturgis frequent the highway in the summer.

Little Brush Creek Cave is among the many great stops on Highway 191. If the water is running high or it could rain, entering the cave is not recommended.

John Jarvie Ranch a Utah State Historical Site located in Brown's Park.  John Jarvie ran a ferry crossing, post office, and general store out of this unique river side location.
