The Green River below Fontanelle Dam in Western Wyoming is perhaps the very best place in the lower 48 states to catch a trophy size wild trout. With an average of 250 trout per river mile, catch rates won't be like they are on the Green River below Flaming Gorge Dam. However, if stalking trophy trout with big flies all day for a handful of chances is your thing, there are not many better places to fly fish. Hundreds of trophy trout, incredible hatches, tons of migratory birds, wildlife, and solitude await you on this remote section of river.
