Roger Trout

Roger Trout is aptly named for his profession and calling in life. He has been an avid hunter and fisherman ever since he was just a kid growing up in the small Central Colorado town of Granby. Roger has been an Orvis Endorsed Guide since 1984 and has worked in the industry in several different high profile locations such as Alaska, Idaho, Utah, Colorado, and Wyoming. He spent 8 years working for the Colorado Division of Wildlife in the Fisheries Department where he studied the northwestern rivers and lakes.

Roger has made a name for himself in the town of Meeker, Colorado, where he now resides with the White River in his backyard. He has guided professionally for outfits such as Northwest Voyagers - ID, Seven Lakes Lodge - CO, Trout Creek Flies - UT (for the late Denny Breer), Elk Creek Ranch - CO, Spring Valley Anglers - AR, and with Spinner Fall Guide Service - UT. He has been on the cover of Fly Fisherman Magazine and Sports Afield Magazine and has also been in Gray's Sporting Journal along with being a pinup boy for the Orvis Catalog. Some celebrities he has guided include Greg Norman, Michael Douglas, Barbara Walters, Tom Brokaw, Steve Largent, Vernon Jordon, Dan Quayle, Jack Kemp, Lou Dobbs, Oscar de la Renta, & Lee Perkins (the former owner of Orvis). When not guiding on a river, Roger also provides his services as a professional hunting guide for deer, elk, antelope, & mountain lion.
